HOT SEAT

The English Department of J.M.J. conducted the “Hot Seat” activity for classes XI and XII on November 12, 2025, aiming to strengthen students’ speaking, listening, and critical-thinking skills. The objectives were to foster quick thinking, fluency, and accuracy in spoken English, as well as to promote peer interaction and collaborative learning.In this activity, each student took a turn in the ‘Hot Seat’ facing their peers, where a team of four interviewed them with higher-order questions from the syllabus and current general affairs. The questions were prepared by various team members, and a time limit added excitement and challenge. Multiple rounds enabled broad participation.The event saw enthusiastic involvement from all students. Teamwork was evident in the interviews, and those in the Hot Seat demonstrated confidence, alertness, and effective communication. Many impressed their classmates with creative thinking and prompt responses.The “Hot Seat” activity proved highly successful, making English learning engaging and interactive while helping students overcome hesitation and express themselves with greater confidence.
